Brenda grew up on an acreage a few miles south of Algona, IA. She graduated from Bishop Garrigan High School in 1994 and continued her education at Iowa State University. During her four years there, she earned two degrees, one in Marketing and one in Transportation and Logistics. She met her husband, Ben, at Iowa State and married a few months after graduation.
They moved to the Minneapolis/St. Paul area for Brenda to pursue a career in Client Services at Marx Promotion Intelligence (now known as Kantar Media). At Marx, Brenda was instrumental in providing a positive client relationship for several national consumer packaged good companies, including General Mills, P&G, and Kraft. She coordinated client requests and facilitated the interpretation of the reports generated by Marx.
In 2000, Ben accepted a job with DuPont Pioneer in Johnston, IA. Brenda and Ben moved back to Iowa and settled in the town of Pleasant Hill, where Brenda continued working for Marx from her home office. During this time, she traveled nationally to provide training to her clients and supported the sales team remotely. In 2006, Brenda decided to leave Marx to focus on raising their three daughters.
The family has called Polk City home since 2009. Brenda has occupied her time by becoming involved in community organizations, her church, and is a regular volunteer at her daughters’ school. In addition to spending time with her family, her hobbies include scrap booking, reading, running, and camping.
