Boone is a small town located close to Highway 30. This town is built with a lot of character and history. Boone is known for Pufferbilly Days, the Boone Speedway, and the Boone and Scenic Valley Railroad.
Residents in Boone have a large variety of activities and resources to enjoy. Outdoor activities include playing tennis at the McHose city park, picnicking at Herman Park, or taking a hike at Ledges State Park located only 4 miles south. The Cedar Pointe Golf Course and the Municipal Pool are also available to its citizens weather permitting. Boone offers many local dining options such as Saints Avenue Cafe and the Colorado Grill. Shopping will also be a breeze because this small town has its own HyVee, Fareway and Wal-Mart.
Boone’s school district provides schooling for grades K-12. What’s nice about this school district is starting high school students can choose technical career paths of their interest. This school district provides an excellent educational environment promoting academia and extra curricular activities for all their students. Boone also has a DMAAC college campus, which is one of the largest community colleges in Iowa.
