Welcome to Perry! Perry was previously known as a major railroad junction town along the North Raccoon River in Dallas County. The town holds a lot of history as well as many amenities to offer residents.
Perry is home to the historical Hotel Pattee, with themed rooms showcased throughout. The Carnegie Library Museum is also located in Perry. This building holds history of the town as well as our state and nation. Not only can residents go to Carnegie Library to explore the history, they can also use it as a regular library. This library includes many of it’s original books, including children's books and other literature about the midwest.
Although Perry has a lot of history to offer, it is also a very functional town to reside. Perry has many local shops such as Hy-Vee, Fareway, Shopko, and Dollar General. Also, Highway 141 runs right through town meaning Des Moines is only a 25 minute drive. The McCreary Community Center is also a place where a lot of the Perry citizens socialize. This center has an indoor pool, universal weight room, theater, and much more!
We look forward to helping you find your place in Perry!
